Grandmother's Ruins and a Forgotten Relief Effort
A couple of years ago, I stumbled upon a treasure hidden in my father's bureau. In this treasure I found letters and photos regarding a construction of a hospital in Poland 1946. This was a Swedish relief effort. The film revolves around the work and contributions of women, with my complex grandmother playing a central role. I invite you to witness unique, never-before-seen footage. Can this relief effort tell a story that resonates in our time?
The film is 45 minutes long and centers on a Swedish relief mission in Poland that has been completely forgotten. The construction is funded by the Swedish government and the Red Cross, intended to "become a memory for the future.
The film has been shown at the Red Cross in Geneva and Stockholm, and is also available on the Red Cross YouTube channel.
